One in nine lets you look first
Affiliate links
Only one doujin manga in nine comes with a trial — 11%. Against 77% for games, that is barely anything.
Which makes the ones that do unusually useful. These six carry English in the same product and a preview you can read, ordered by downloads.
Prices run from 110 to 990 yen. Being able to look first means you do not have to start with the cheapest to limit the risk.

Price charts sit under each title. The strong line is a price we actually saw; the pale line is a stretch we did not check, where we take the sale as having ended when DLsite said it would (pale dots mean still to come). The scale starts at zero, so a half-price sale drops half the height.

A preview is the exception, not the rule
Across 2,902 titles checked on their work pages, trials appear on 11% of manga and 15% of CG sets — both in the teens, a different world from 77% of games and 75% of video. For manga, not being able to look inside is the normal case, which leaves the cover, the blurb and the rating to decide on. What stands in for a trial is the run of sample images on the product page: nearly every title has them, and the longer books carry more. Count those before paying for a dear one. The six here are the exception: you read part of it first. (Measured 31 October 2026 across 2,902 titles.)
